The staff were lovely, super helpful when I needed them. The decor was charming and gave a cozy vibe, which was like my own secret sanctuary! Honestly, I could have stayed forever!
I did get lost in the hallways-seriously, it was like a funhouse maze! And the pool area? Let's just say it could use a good sprucing up, much like my garden after winter!

Exceptionally well trained staff, had magnificent stay!!!
We ate at a WONDERFUL restaurant for dinner. Best king size bed plus a safe and a whirlpool were provided. The private parking was on the street, very good service.

The rooms offered nice views and comfortable beds. We encountered some issues with noise levels that disrupted our experience, particularly during nap time for our child. While the staff was very accommodating and the family-friendly amenities were appreciated, the dining options were lacking in quality. Great choice for families looking for comfort but room for improvement in food and noise insulation.

The standard double room was decent sized, exquisite, with a luxury bathroom. The staff was top-class, they provided a good service. The hotel's location was perfect and excellent in downtown San Francisco.

Very beautiful, old, chic luxury hotel with "good audience" in a beautiful hillside location.
What I had never experienced before: The menu of the main restaurant is tiny compared to the one of the room service! What's the point of that? This makes no sense at all, because not everyone wants to eat in the room if they want a little more choice.

The bay view room was splendid, but parking was quite a challenge.

Getting to be in historic hotel in town that my grandparents and elder relatives were from They would have been teenager when property first opened and my visit was to retrace the memories of my childhood stays with them in their nearby home. Having a view of the bay bridge and stars while dining al fresco was lovely. I liked using the whirlpool and spa as well as the fitness facility on location to take Zumba. There was a very well scheduled group activity program at the club.
It was cold sitting outside but worth it to me for the ambience. (would have been a plus to have lap robes provided) I had booked a king bed bayview but got a room with 2 queens. While I had a bay view, it was from a recessed room on 2nd floor and I had rooftop view below me, as well as view of the adjacent wings windows. It wasn't bad, just not a grand as I had envisioned. You definitely hear people come and go from their rooms and their conversations when they return to their rooms. But bed was comfortable, I was tired and they eventually got settled in for the night, so I had a great night's sleep.

The service is superb, includes easy parking. Everything is amazing, the room is well-appointed with a gorgeous view and a huge bathroom and coffee cups. The breakfast is great with views, had outstanding food.
Views are very limited.

Let me tell you, the grilled meats at the Claremont Lobby Lounge are a game changer! The culinary delights keep you coming back for more. Not to mention, the gym and pool offer killer amenities for post-feasting detox. The friendly staff is another bonus. They really know how to.
On the flip side, the HVAC unit in our Standard Queen Room with Two Queen Beds was louder than a drumline at midnight-sleep was a bit of a stranger. And don't even get me started on the valet monopolizing the self-parking-it made for some hair-pulling moments!

We should have been told at check in that the breakfast is continental for guests until 9.30am and that hot breakfast runs after that. We went down at 10.30am on Sunday and were told that there was an hour wait for a table even though we were guests of the hotel.

I really enjoyed the soothing massage at the spa and relaxing in the outdoor pool with a fantastic view. Only downside was the extra charge for parking, which seemed a bit steep.

We loved the grandeur and history of the building, excellent views and facilites and an excellent room service menu - greatly appreciated by tired travellers with hungry teenage boys. We all felt that we were staying somewhere really special. Good value for money even with the resort (26$ for a 5 people is really nothing!). It must be said that the weather this side of the bay is much better than in San-Francisco and the Marin valley area. SF is a short ferry ride from Oakland which is a 15 minute drive from the Claremont.
The Paragon restaurant was very crowded and the food very basic. My daughter's children's menu was quite poor. Much better restaurants in Berkley.
